Anthroposophical Art

Anthroposophical Art

What is 'anthroposophical art'?

Art is independent and free and cannot be called 'anthroposophical art'. However, artistic and cultural creativity can be enriched by anthroposophy and there is a wide anthroposophical art scene. Eurythmy/eurythmy therapy, speech formation and art therapy are directly derived from Rudolf and Marie Steiner.

Marie Steiner was trained as an actress and poetry reader, while Rudolf Steiner worked innovatively in sculpture, painting and architecture. Rudolf Steiner made innovative works in sculpture, painting and architecture. Rudolf Steiner's own stage productions of The Mystery Plays, the full-length Faust, and countless eurythmics and plays led to a revival of interest in music, and compositions were made specifically for these works. The commitment to the 'essence of music' continues today, including in the fields of composition, education and music therapy. In addition, new stage lighting techniques were developed based on research into the effects of light and color.
